Brain barfed.

Maybe I'll toss this in Scraps later because...it sucks Dx Otherwise, I had fun in designing the character.

For :iconsephirothcrystal: 's contest. She's an upper class Dra'ken with some Linosinean connections. Her name is Ny'ir Sindal. Original, of course.

EDIT:
Well, here it goes. I'm not real specific on the details of the social/historical lines of the races, but....

Born into a higher-ranking Dra'ken family, Ny'ir was treated with the utmost respect as a female. Summing it up simply; she was spoiled rotten. Brought up with six other brothers, she isn't one to be messed with though. With cool, ice blue eyes, she'll stare right through any man whom thinks they're up for her. Brought up with etiquette and mannerisms of high sociable Dra'kens, she figured out how to manipulate those around her to get what she wanted. Soon, her life became a bore. Through her adolescent years, she developed a deep interest in the Linosinean culture. While having excellent defensive skill, she was an intellectual. Reading was one of her many hobbies, especially learning about Linosineans. After becoming the right of age, she abruptly left her family (to the Dra'ken's dismay) finding that she found no interest in raising a family under the Dra'ken culture.

Cool and unemotional, but highly curious. Ny'ir laughs in the face of Dra'ken men whom try to court her, and ignore people whom try to sway her otherwise. She was never docile and always honest to herself and blunt in her opinion. The type of person who would walk in a foreign street with their head held high as they turned heads. Stubbornness goes hand-in-hand with her determination when it comes to what she wants. In another sense, she could be ignorant of her surroundings, only able to see her own view. Vain, she is not, but she does take care of her own physical appearance. Also, she hates to waste and is very stingy with money despite her high upbringing.

OH my god, Riri, that was fast. :XD: She looks beautiful.

I don't think females are trained in combat. I'd have to ask Dez (=SephirothCrystal) tho.

The Dra'ken are uber fun aren't they? :3

also: I love your color pencil skillz. I fail at any traditional media that isn't alcohol-based markers (prismacolors and/or copics)

Er, I had no idea of what role females had in the society but I just wanted to put her in armor or a lot of metal. METAL is love <3 And plus, she's not carrying a weapon anyway. It's just fashionable. I like designing clothes.

I think females are mostly wives and mothers since there's so few of them, but I could be wrong. Dez has the best info on the subject since she created them, I've just been around her for a vast number of years, so I've learned a little bit about her creations. :3 And yes, it is fashionable :P I just wasn't sure if it was meant to be armor or just stuff to wear.

You gonna make any other entries? :>

:iconsuperlia:
"Steampunk is a sub-genre of fantasy and speculative fiction that came into prominence in the 1980s and early 1990s. The term denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or real technological developments like the computer occurring at an earlier date. Other examples of steampunk contain alternate history-style presentations of "the path not taken" of such technology as dirigibles, analog computers, or digital mechanical computers (such as Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine); these frequently are presented in an idealized light, or with a presumption of functionality.

Steampunk is often associated with cyberpunk and shares a similar fanbase and theme of rebellion, but developed as a separate movement (though both have considerable influence on each other). Apart from time period and level of technological development, the main difference between cyberpunk and steampunk is that steampunk settings usually tend to be less obviously dystopian than cyberpunk, or lack dystopian elements entirely.

Various modern utilitarian objects have been modded by individual artisans into a pseudo-Victorian mechanical "steampunk" style, and a number of visual and musical artists have been described as steampunk." -Wikipedia

Well, I asked for education, and that is indeed what you gave me.
